Woah! What happened to the last two months??

Wow, Autumn really has flown by. Almost made it a solid two months without any updates at all, aside from my Instagram. (If you don’t already follow me, you totally should! @stevenworley). For the sake of digestibility, I’ll keep this update short and to the point, and mostly photos and video..

To start, the last weekend of September was our trip to Oregon City. Three days of state park camping, beach-going and, let’s be honest, mostly eating and drinking. Unfortunately did not get to explore a lot of the town, but had a great experience at the park.

Along with the usual accompanying photos, I decided to try my hand at making a little video edit of our trip. I really want to try to start getting more into video and cinematography, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Watch the video and let me know what you think of my first attempt!

In my last post I also mentioned that I was shooting an event for Evergreen Home Loans. If you’d like to check out what I got, click this link. I talk a little bit about my relationship with the company and posted a gallery and short promo video there as well.

Next on the roster was our trip to Sol Duc Hot Springs. If you’ve followed me for a year or more, then you probably know this trip really wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. In fact, I make it a point to go out there at least once or twice a year. This time was a bit different, however, in not only our company, but the overall experience. I took some time to chat with one of the lifeguards at the soaking pools, and got to learn a bit more about the history of the resort, as well as what some of the people are like who call the place home for the season. Oh, and we finally got to check out the inside of the historic Lake Crescent Lodge. I’ve stopped there before, but it was always in the off-season and never got to check out the inside. If you’re a history nerd like me and you’re in the area, you should definitely check out the lodge. I’d love to stay there someday.

And to catch up completely, this weekend of Veteran’s Day 2019. It wasn’t too eventful, in fact it was mostly super chill. Saturday we cruised out to Shelton to check out the High Steel Bridge and Vance Creek Bridge. Aside from seeing the sights and devouring some killer Mexican food at 2 Margaritas (best Mexican food in Union), we did some much-needed trash collecting. I can’t believe just how much we got, and how random some of the items were! A shoe, a leaky jug of oil, standard beer bottles and chip bags… it just makes me sad. Not only to know that some people just don’t care about the environment, but also because it totally takes away from the location. How can anybody take in beautiful sights when they’re tainted by trash and stinky-ass old mystery fluid-filled beer cans?! I sure can’t. If everyone that visited these sights picked up just one piece of trash to dispose of properly, I’ll bet we could make them trash-free in a matter of a couple days. I think a good way of thinking of tossing trash and collecting trash is comparing it to that of your home. Would you dump a bag of trash in the corner of your living room? Would you pick up someone else’s trash if they left it sitting on your kitchen counter? Well news flash! Same exact situation. The earth is home to ALL of us. So let’s clean up after our damn selves!

Whew! Well I think we’re all caught up. I’ve got a few ideas for some more blog posts to keep me busy this winter when the weather gets super crummy. I want to thank all of you who read my blog posts and support my photography and adventures. Just knowing there are people out there who like what I’m doing adds so much motivation for me to keep going. Until next time! So long friends.
