A Mid-Summer Day's Musings

Admittedly, I have not been very active on here for a while. Honestly I haven’t been making it a priority, and I kind of miss it. By “it,” I mean all of it. The photography, the blogging, the sharing… even sometimes the adventures! So here’s a go at a little bit of catching up.

This summer has been suuuuuper busy. Memorial Day weekend brought me on a skatepark tour of the Olympic Peninsula with a ton of buds. I’ve managed to get in a handful of other camping trips in since then too. Since around June, it’s been a mad house of events. Fourth of July weekend was split up between boating and hanging out at the cabin and hanging out in the neighborhood for the annual Bridge Blast fireworks show. The following weekend, my mom and my little twin brother and sister, along with some other family and friends came out to enjoy a joint cookout for mine and my sister’s birthdays. The glory of having them six days apart is that we can party together every year!

Since then I’ve found myself in an indefinite period of overtime, and oh yeah, I just got over one of those stupid summer colds that ruins one the nicest week yet of the year. Now I’ve come out on the other side and I’m feeling good about things! As long as I can get some time off this weekend, I'll have a good few weeks lined up ahead of me. Friday Kaylee and I are heading up to Seattle to see Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, and hopefully we’ll find somewhere to go camp and swim on Saturday.

The two weekends after that are set to be outstanding. First of the two, Kaylee and I get to shoot our friends’ wedding out in Seabeck at a beautiful hunting-lodge style cabin in the woods. Not only am I beyond excited for those two to get married, but I’m honored to be able to shoot their photos on such a day in such a place. The second weekend is the weekend of my first little sister’s wedding. I’m so happy for her and my future brother-in-law. It means a lot to me to have seen them develop their relationship since the very beginning. Jessie and David, I love you both and I can’t wait. Not to mention, my dad and stepmom, aunt and uncle, and grandpa and grandma are also flying in. Can’t tell you how stoked I am!

Phew! Well with that, I’d say we’re mostly caught up. It’s felt good to write another little “Hello!” to the internet, so I’m going to make it a priority to put out some more content. Keep checking in if you want to find out what I’ve been up to. I’ll be putting out some stories about what’s been going on including our new project vehicle, home developments and projects, and how the weddings and everything else end up going as well.
